NYE is such a fun night, but can be stressful if you don’t have the right look. I love dressing up, but I always feel like I’ll be too dressed down, or too dressed up… or show up in sparkle dress when everyone else is dressed in jeans or pant looks! We text our girls asking what they’re wearing and they all feel the same or are undecided… right? Maybe a dress, I ate too many cookies so probably a cute tunic and leggings with boots, I’m going all out – YOLO! Ha, we all have different ways to dress up, and different places to go that may change what we decide to wear! Regardless of all these thoughts, it’s always important to feel comfortable and confident regardless of what you choose! Confidence will shine more than your look!
For those of you who love a good black jean or pants outfit… here are a few ideas to jazz them up! Black jeans are always so slimming, especially with a pointed toe boot or pump! This will help your legs look longer! Add a pop of sparkle on your bag, or a bright color in your bag or shoes, and you’ve got a great look that you feel comfortable in! I love a good lace top! They are so elegant and pretty, and a little dressier! They’re perfect for holidays, company parties, and NYE. Pair them with your best jeans and you have a sophisticated look. I’ve paired mine with a leopard pump and a red bag. Added a little sparkle in my earrings – and a bold lip and TADA! Perfect for the Holiday season and I’d so much rather be in pants for this holiday!
Another great look to rock if you prefer to keep your legs covered.. is these spanx feau leather leggings! They have a little sheen to them and can really elevate you look. I’ve paired them with this adorable leopard top from Vici Dolls – that has an open back detail! From the front you have this adorable look that mixes prints and materials… a pointy boot or pump… then you turn around and you have a new level of detail. The back dips low in a cross pattern, but you can still wear a normal bra! AMEN! the knot sits right at your lower back! I’ve just paired this with my favorite little black bag, but you can easily rock a sparkle clutch too! Super easy – these leggings are also LEGIT the best. High waist and wash well, and so easy to wear a million other ways! Worth the splurge. Wearing a small in the top and leggings! My exact top is sold out, but I linked some other cute leopard options!
This dress is so classic! I love it so much… I just got a new one because it’s on sale! Its perfect for weddings, showers, dinner parties, company events… such a classic cut, perfect length, and just simply gorgeous. Usually only $89 but on sale for $66-$77 depending on the color you choose! There are like 15 so you can definitely find the right color for your skin tone and event you’re headed to! I’m wearing the Navy India Ink color… but they’re all fabulous. Wearing a small. If concerned… size up!
Love dresses and headed to a dressier event? Here are a couple I’m obsessed with that really stand out for being different! This one shoulder red dress is from Dress & Dwell. It’s structured so it stays in place, and the one shoulder detail is so different than other dresses out there. The cut on this dress is so unique and I just love how sophisticated it is!This boutique has some really cute things and you can get 25% off using code SUGARCOATEDCHIC on their entire site! This other dress is also soooo cute! I love sequins, but feel than can look a little cheap if not done right, but not this dress! Perfect stripes of sequins with bold colors. The back ties up in a criss cross giving it some extra detail. Wear some tights and boots, or just a simple black heel like my friend Abby did in this look! Both cute options and under $100! Wearing a small in both!
This next dress I wore to my company holiday party, but it would be so perfect for NYE too! Long sleeves which I love because I’m always cold, and has the most beautiful sheen on it! It’s a wrap dress with a cinched waist line, and has a shorter skirt underneath. The longer layer really flows when you walk giving the dress a lot of movement. Love this color and the fit is perfect. I’m wearing an XSMALL.
Another dress option if you live in FREEZING cold Chibera or other parts of the midwest, is this adorable pearl sweater dress from Chicwish! How cute, right? A little ballon sleeve, and pearl details around the top of the dress and sleeves make for a perfect NYE look! I’ve paired it with some black tights and my favorite black booties! Comfortable yet chic and you will definitely stand out in a crowd without feeling too much, or too casual! Absolutely love this dress. You can also belt it to give yourself a little waistline, but can easily be worn without! Only $66 and so adorable. This can be worn to work, a date night, and be dressed up or down so easily! Wearing a S/M.
Let’s talk jumpsuits and skirts! These two options are from Lulu’s and are perfect for NYE. This pleated skirt is the right amount of sparkle, and with how pale my legs are, it helps cover most of them up! Ha. I’ve paired it with a velvet halter top and my sparkle pumps from target! This velvet top is so pretty and has a little sheen, but isn’t too much with the skirt. They both compliment each other so well! Add your favorite black ankle strap heel and you have such a classic look perfect for dancing! Wearing XSMALL in skirt and small in the tank.
This jumpsuit is a KNOCKOUT! it’s so slimming, tons of length in the legs if you’re tall or want to wear a big heel, and the cut at the top is amazing! It flows a little to give you a shape. I do wear my Spanx under this – and probably should have gotten a small. However when I bought this I was training for a triathlon and was a tad more toned/slim in the leg and butt area than I am now – ha, so I need a little extra help! Either way, such an amazing fit and I love how confident I feel every time I wear this out! I paired it with a silver heel, so sparkle earrings, and will either grab a leopard or a bright red clutch to go with it! Wearing XSMALL but would prob order a small if ordered today!
